Join an evening talk with renowned Buddhist teacher Matthieu Ricard, whose best-selling books include Altruism: The Power of Compassion to Change Yourself and the World.
Sometimes called the "happiest man in the world," Matthieu Ricard is an international renowned Buddhist monk, author, and scientist. After training in biochemistry at the Institute Pasteur, Matthieu Ricard left science behind to move to the Himalayas and become a Buddhist monk—and to pursue happiness, both at a basic human level and as a subject of inquiry. He has come to believe that achieving happiness requires the same kind of effort and mind training involved with any other serious pursuit. Mindfulness expert John Kabat-Zinn has stated that Ricard's recent book, Altruism: The Power of Compassion to Change Yourself and the World, is “the most important book written in the past ten years."
