Community Intelligence: MBK - Uplifting Men/Boys and Women/Girls in California Learning Conference

The 2017 Community Intelligence: My Brothers Keeper Initiatives: Uplifting Men and Boys & Women and Girls of Color in California Learning Conference will be held at The California Endowment Los Angeles Conference Center on Monday, October 9, 2017.  The goals of the 'MBK Uplifting MBOC/WGOC conference are to: (1) convene a diverse set stakeholders whose work is focused on MBK-related goals and/or impacts MBOC/WGOC; (2) discuss barriers and challenges to uplifting MBOC/WGOC; (3) identify opportunities to advance MBK-related goals and and lessons learned along the way; and (4) elevate promising practices for uplifting MBOC/WGOC and accomplishing MBK-related objectives. People and organizations working to uplift Californian Men and Boys & Women and Girls of Color should consider attending.  The conference will feature an exciting keynote speaker, panels made up of LA County elected officials, statewide and local city/county MBK leaders from community based organizations. Topics for the breakout sessions include: (a) ACE's x MBOC/WGOC & MBK; (b) Public Health x MBOC/WGOC & MBK; (c) Gun Violence x MBOC/WGOC & MBK; (d) Adverse Childhood and Community Experiences x MBOC/WGOC & MBK; (e) Mental Health x MBOC/WGOC & MBK; (f) Domestic Violence x MBOC/WGOC & MBK; (g) School Districts x MBOC/WGOC & MBK; and, (h) Trauma x MBOC/WGOC & MBK.
