Educating Traumatized Children - Online Summit

Attachment & Trauma Network, Inc. (ATN) the nation’s oldest organization devoted to helping traumatized children and their families is hosting an online summit:  Educating Traumatized Children, from May 1-5, 2017.  The summit is being aired for free and will feature over 18 interviews from experts in early childhood trauma and trauma-sensitive schools.  Recordings of the interviews will be available for purchase and download after their initial airing.  Participants can register for the summit or learn more about purchasing recordings at www.creatingtraumasensitiveschools.org .

Dr. Ross Greene, renown expert in challenging behaviors and author of Lost in School and The Explosive Child will keynote this summit with “Re-Thinking Children’s Behavior…the Seismic Shift.”  Other notable interviews include Jim Sporleder, Robert Hull, Dr. Susan Craig, Dr. Tim Purnell and Heather Forbes, LCSW.

Melissa Sadin, Director of ATN’s Creating Trauma Sensitive Schools program will be featured as well several other educators who work with ATN’s program.  Topics include the Importance of Top Administrator Support; Teacher Self-Care; the Role of OTs in Trauma-Informed Schools; the Impact of the Compton Case on Special Ed Policy; the Difference Between Bad Behavior and Developmental Trauma; Trauma-Informed IEPs; and more.
