Webinar Series Description
Successful Continuum of Care implementation requires counties to collaborate across their child welfare and behavioral health agencies. This three-part webinar series includes an overview and focus on the need for using a trauma-informed care focus in working with children in the child welfare system.

Presenter
Kristin Dempsey, LMFT, LPCC, is a Senior Associate at CIBHS specializing in workforce development and evidence-based practices. She has worked with youth in a clinic, school, and private practice settings for over 20 years. Kristin has trained with Dr. Bruce Perry and the Child Trauma Academy staff in the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics and has consulted with programs and systems on creating and maintaining trauma informed systems of care.

• Attendees will be able to recognize three types of trauma typically experiences by children in the child welfare system.
• Attendees will be able to name the components of a trauma informed system and identify two ways in which the principles of trauma informed care can be applied to their specific workplaces.
• Attendees will identify three interventions they can use to help clients identify triggers, obtain emotional regulation, and teach clients self care techniques

Who Should Attend
County Child Welfare staff, Group Home staff, Behavioral Health clinicians, Family Partners, Parent Partners and others involved in Continuum of Care Reform implementation.
