The Film "RESILIENCE" SET FOR "SNEAK PREVIEW" STREAMING

The Film "RESILIENCE" SET FOR "SNEAK PREVIEW" STREAMING

…And it’s for ACEsConnection members only! So if you have friends, family or co-workers who want to see Resilience, a documentary that looks at the birth of the CDC-Kaiser Permanente Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) Study and how it spawned a movement across the world, please ask them to join our network by going to ACEsConnection.com and clicking on Join Now! Or, you can invite them to join -- here’s how.

 The event is set for 6 p.m. PT (3 p.m. HAST, 5 p.m. AKDT, 7 p.m. MT, 8 p.m. CT, 9 p.m. ET) Sunday, April 10, 2016. (For people outside the U.S., that’s 1 a.m. GMT). The documentary is about an hour long.

A few days before the event, we will be emailing all members an access code to use that Sunday night. You’ll be able to use it from your desktop, laptop, tablet, mobile…however you access the Internet….and watch the film on your preferred device. We’ll post another reminder next week.

The documentary features trailblazers in pediatrics, education, and social welfare who are using cutting-edge science and field-tested therapies and approaches to protect children from the damaging effects of toxic stress, and the dark legacy of a childhood that no one would choose. It shows that, although the broader impacts of poverty worsen the risk of ACEs, no segment of society is immune.

In the weeks following the “sneak preview”, we plan on scheduling text chats on ACEsConnection with some of the people featured in the film. We’ll keep you posted!

This “sneak preview” will help you decide about — as well as garner interest in — scheduling a screening for your community. Beginning in August, Resilience will be available for screenings at conferences and in communities, and will be distributed through TUGG.

very very disappointed to miss it.  Did you send reminders as you said?  I didn't' get one. thought it was the 20th instead of the 10th.  If you send reminders, please use Reminder or something on the subject line.  I can't always read every regular digest that arrives at the moment I see it.   However looking through the list I still don't see any reminder nor code.  really bummed.

OK. Thank you. I had given up by then and logged off. I will have to catch
it if it comes to Baltimore. Please continue to keep us advised of
showings. DIane

I heard from Lina, Julie, Claudia, Brigid, Gladys, Patricia, and Kiersten that they were able to tune in, and thought the documentary was great.

I hope everyone who wanted to was able to see it. It's definitely a fabulous deep dive into ACEs science and practice. Thank you Jamie, Karen, Jen and everyone else associate with KPJR Films!

Still never received a code.  Checked my spam folder and then went through all of my other folders just to be sure... seems like this is a problem affecting a significant number of people.  Enormously disappointed that there's no reply or action taken on the part of ACESCONNECTION as of yet.

The email with the code was sent Friday at about 2 pm PT, 5 pm ET. We sent it through MailChimp, so if you haven't received it, check your spam filter.

We're sending out another reminder email with the same information today at 4 pm PT, 7 pm ET.

If you can't find the email with the code, please email me at jstevens@acesconnection.com.

Thank you!

Hi Joshua, I've just discovered your email wondering when the ACES Code
for the Resilience film is being sent, and unfortunately, I am not the
person to ask, and am searching, too. I hope we both get the code soon,
and If you should get it, please forward it to me.

I see that you are the Dean of Students at Weston Elementary School... and
I'd be interested in how you and others in your community are working to
promote Resilience and, also address the primary prevention of ACES. My
husband, Burtt, a retired pediatrician and I ([pediatric health educator)
have been focused on primary prevention since our retirement. I didn't
want to waste a minute given that children can't wait, and neither should
we. Now, 10 years later, we have not crossed the threshold of certainty
nor do we have a model of success.

What we have achieved may be a beginning.... founded on the principle that
we much reach out gently to every parent (preferably pre-birth) of a
newborn, and engage them in assessing their own RESILIENCE/ACES status,
develop an understanding of ACES and the power of Resilience for themselves
and their newborn, and create a supportive environment in which they can
give voice to their deepest hope for the child... which inherently is to
protect and delight in the awesome reality of their infant... well,
that's just the beginning....

..... where we are now in this journey is to realize there are not enough
financial resources not trained professionals to reach out to every parent
(beginning in pregnancy) and to carry through... that this can only happen
in neighborhoods where children live, and it must be done with human
capitol, not economic grants, sources of funding or taxes. ...

What we have designed, to be adaptable in any neighborhood - defined by
geographic boundaries, e.g., the catchment area of an Elementary School,
without charge, is a "framework" we call Neighborhood Networks and Family
Networks. Each of these networks is independent and offers benefits to
everyone, individually and collectively; These networks are interdependent
in that they meet the needs of all humans: to feel a sense of belonging,
community, and security.

In our own neighborhood in Tucson AZ, both Neighborhood Networks and Family
Networks are established, in an early stage of development and are
showing promise of growth. If you are interested, I'd like to hear from
you and will send you flyers we've developed... (I tried, but could not
attach them to this message. We will be leaving fairly soon to return to
our roots in Maine where we will spend the summer, and I will be connected
by email during our travels. Regards, Gladys Richardson
