What's Really Happening in Child, Adolescent, and Family Therapy? [Portland, OR]
Standard of Care isn't what we are supposed to be doing!
It is what we are actually doing. Come join us as we discuss how we assess, diagnose, and formulate our ideas about treatment in a way that makes sense.
Psychotherapy can be a very isolated experience, where it is hard to really know how others actually practice. Add to that the wide variety of approaches including a family systems, psychoanalytic, depth oriented, self-psychology or cognitive to name only a few.
We will look for the underlying standards that we share in common and will discuss:
How do we actually measure clinical outcomes?
Do we make use of treatment and/or diagnostic manuals and how do we integrate “evidence based therapies” in our work?
What are the greatest difficulties and satisfactions of child, adolescent or family work?
Where do we find ourselves stuck?
Please pass on the word about our conference to therapists, case workers, teachers, and others who may benefit from support in their work with children and families!
