Two Open Windows - Parental Neurological Changes Due to Parenting

This is an interesting piece of research that shows how parenting is harder for some of us than others, not just psychologically but neurologically. The effects of our own early experiences of abuse, neglect, or other family adversity has long reaching effects into the future. A good place to start is to recognize it is harder, and be kinder to ourselves and offer ourselves the much needed support we require. #ParentingwithACEs is #ParentingwithaDisability and it is time we show sensitivity and kindness and support toward ourselves and other parents who are vulnerable.

Here is a free online webinar addressing "The Art of Co-Regulation" which helps parents (who struggle themselves with feeling overwhelmed) better understand how to help their explosive or anxious child.

And this link is a great overview on Parenting for Resiliency.
