Free Discussion Guide and Movie Loans

Do you ever see a post from us and wonder about ACEs? Want to educate your friends? We can help!

For free, ARI can lend you an hour-long documentary (Resilience: The Biology of Stress and the Science of Hope) about the history of ACE science and early years of the Resilience movement, as well as a hard or soft copy of the movie’s discussion guide.

This guide (https://www.recharge4resilienc...uide%20-%20FINAL.PDF) created in partnership with the Alaska Children's Trust and other organizations, will help you develop a solid foundation of ACE and Resilience history. It walks you through several key aspects of the film and provides important supplementary information to make sure you get the most of your screening! Everyone who watches Resilience can apply newly earned knowledge to everyday activities – from the office to the classroom, and even inside your homes.

If you want to take advantage of this amazing (and free!) tool, please contact Vicki (vlewis@alaskachildrenstrust.org).

Additionally, after your group has learned about the science and history, the Alaska Resilience Initiative offers a chance to see theories come to life. Paper Tigers, the ‘sequel’ to Resilience, documents the transition of a high school in Washington and impacts trauma-informed practices had on students.

Paper Tigers is a great follow up to Resilience, but the set can also be used in reverse order to peak interest and then explain science. And, Paper Tigers is also free to borrow – just contact Claudia (intern1@alaskachildrenstrust.org).

This is a great initiative by the Alaska ACES Action group to provide free discussion guides and movie loans to promote awareness and understanding of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs). It's important to have these resources available to help individuals and communities address the impacts of ACEs and work towards healing and resilience. It's also commendable that they are making these resources easily accessible and free of charge. For those who may need financial assistance, using the best app for payday advance https://apple.co/3kYSFnM can also be a helpful tool to manage expenses and access necessary resources. Thank you, Alaska ACES Action, for your valuable efforts towards promoting ACEs awareness and prevention.
