The Philadelphia ACE Task Force along with sponsors including the Scattergood Foundation, the Health Federation of PhiladelphiaBehavioral Health Training and Education Network and Exude, will host Philadelphia's first ACE Film Festival on Wednesday, January 27th, from 12:30 - 5:30 at WHYY Studios in Philadephia.

The Festival will feature two powerful films - the Philadelphia premiere of Paper Tigers by James Redford takes an intimate look into the lives of selected students at Lincoln High School, an alternative school that specializes in educating traumatized youth. Set amidst the rural community of Walla Walla, WA, the film intimately examines the inspiring promise of Trauma Informed Communities - a movement that is showing great promise in healing youth struggling with the dark legacy of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES).

Portraits of Professional Caregivers:  Their Passion, Their Pain, produced by two local filmmakers and featuring Philadelphia caregivers, is a documentary  which takes us on a journey into a world the public has not seen. The film depicts the dramatic emotional costs experienced by professional providers such as nurses, social workers, clinical psychologists, doctors, firefighters, first responders who rescue, assist, and when possible heal the injured and traumatized. Through dramatic stories, CAREGIVERS film probes the emotionally risky aspects of professional caregivers and public servants.
