ACEs and Resiliency Fellowship - New Offering for Trauma-Informed Action

We are excited to report we secured additional funding and support to continue the ACEs and Resiliency Fellowship!  We are now ready to offer all of our Master Trainers and Presenters additional training opportunities as “Trauma-Informed Agency Champions.”  (Limited spots will also be offered to other community members who want to join in.)

Our new program will combine two tracks, led by Sonoma County Office of Education:

  • Trauma-Informed Agency Champion workshops (register for 1-3 workshops)
  • Restorative Culture Collaborative II series (register for the 4-class series.)

These two tracks will give each of you the chance to develop skills as a coach for agencies and schools looking to implement trauma-informed practices.  The Restorative Culture Collaborative (a group of school teams) began last year, and will merge with our Fellowship this year to provide an opportunity to spread Trauma-Informed practices widely among family-serving agencies.

Please see the attached flyer for details including dates or go directly to www.scoe.org/classes to register.

As a collaboration between the Sonoma County Office of Education, Sonoma County Department of Human Services, Sonoma County Department of Health Services (Behavioral Health and Public Health), Child-Parent Institute, First 5 Sonoma County, and Sonoma County ACES Connection, the 2017-18 effort will move from the goal of awareness-building to one of action.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  1. Where do I register this year? Do I find events on Eventbrite?  Will someone automatically register me?  Class registration is now coordinated by Sonoma County Office of Education.  Please go to www.scoe.org/classes to register.  (Click on the "browse classes" option and look for courses titled Restorative Culture Collaborative II and Trauma Informed Agency Champion.)  Each participant will need to register for 1-3 of the Trauma Informed Agency Champion workshops.  Teams of participants (2 or more) will register for the Restorative Culture Collaborative 4 part workshop series.
  2. I don't have a team, but I still want to participate in the Restorative Culture Collaborative.  What do I do?  Please contact SCOE who can help place you with a school team or another community group.
  3.  How long are the sessions? Will you feed me?  This year's sessions are longer and are scheduled from 9-3.  Light breakfast snacks will be served as well as lunch.
  4. Will you be offering scholarships?  Yes!  Thanks to funding from First 5, Sonoma County Office of Education, and Human Services, partial and full scholarships are available.  (A link and scholarship request form are available on each workshop/series listing.)
  5. I didn't participate in the first Fellowship as a Master Trainer or Presenter. Can I join this year?  We are looking for more representation of early childhood educators or providers serving 0-5. In addition, we'd like to expand participation to more law enforcement, media, faith-based, and civic groups.  We encourage folks from these sectors to register as well.
  6. How is payment arranged?  After registering, SCOE will send you an invoice.  Payment must be received by June 30, 2018.
