Challenges of Youth LogoHow can educators, nonprofits, and government organizations that serve children help them navigate the rapidly changing world we live in and prepare them to thrive in school and career? The Challenges of Youth Conference will provide cutting-edge information, tips, and tools that will empower those serving Sonoma County youths to help them overcome the challenges they face. Attendance is free but registration is required.

Keynote

Christian MooreKeynote Speaker Christian Moore will present 10 tools for fostering resilience in students. These tools work with students in one-on-one, small group, or classroom settings. Participants will gain skills to deliver the life-changing power of resilience to students of any background and learning style.

California Association of School Psychologists

This event meets the qualifications for three hours of continuing education credit for LEPs, LPCCs, LMFTs and LCSWs. This course also qualifies for three hours of continuing professional development for Nationally Certified School Psychologists under provider number 1025. The California Association of School Psychologists maintains responsibility for the program and its content. Cost for three credits is $15 per person. Additional information on how to secure these credits will be posted as it becomes available.

Sonoma State University

This event meets the qualifications for .3 CEUs from the Sonoma State University School of Education and Department of Psychology (pending approval). Additional information on how to secure these credits will be posted as it becomes available.

It would be cool to see something about youth engagement, organizing, or
action research to discuss empowering youth to address issues in their
community. THe different breakout groups seem more focused on addressing
risk versus empowering youth to make systems/ policy change etc. Just an
observation of mine. I also think that kind of engagement work might be
more in line with the self healing communities model.
