I have a family with a 15 & 17 yr old (almost 18 yr old) who is desperate for trauma services and support programs.  There are at minimum 6 ACEs as well as other mental health diagnoses impacting both girls.  The psychiatric hospital has not been very helpful for the older sister who will be kicked out when turning 18 yr old when they withdraw services.  I'm hoping someone here is familiar with the area and may have a referral or two that I can pass along to this family.  They actually live in the Milton - Alpharetta area, but anything close will be helpful.  If there is a residential program anywhere in the country, the family is even willing to consider that.

Any assistance would be appreciated.  Thank you so much in advance.

Mary Beth - I live in the Atlanta area, so this family is welcomed to contact me (julieb@attachtrauma.org).  There aren't any trauma-focused residential programs in the area that I'm aware of (there is one that uses DBT effectively).  But I do know of other young adult/older teen programs that might be a fit as well as people who could help them find the right program.

Chris 180 is a good suggestion if they are looking for trauma-informed counseling/therapy locally.

See if anyone offers Neuroptimal Neurofeedback in your area.  NF was THE critical healing ingredient for the teen I was a CASA for.  It works very rapidly when it works.   Overall self regulation improves as brain efficiency/calm improves.   I was racing against my youth's 18th birthday too and we got NF in the nick of time.    She just turned 19 -- the NF gains have been very durable.
