We are looking for experienced trainers/providers who have implemented ACEs for an upcoming training on December 14th for our statewide Maternal and Child Health Council. Many of the members are providers. We have provided basic ACEs training but we need the next level--how to implement screening and what to do after you start screening (follow up and referral). How do they integrate ACEs into practice? We can offer an option to share information via web conferencing or cover costs for travel to Kansas. Please let me know if you know someone who might be able to assist. Thank you!

Cristi,

At Good Harbor Institute we work with organizations teaching them to use a coaching model with clients. We help clinicians and non-clinicians translate information they learned becoming "trauma informed" into skills that can be used immediately. Please let me know if this would be helpful.

We are presenting a full day workshop in the spring in Kansas at a Court Appointed Special Advocate conference.

Wishing you well,

Cathy

if you want the mainstream view there's a nonprofit in Kansas specifically working on child mental health. I'm blanking on the name right now.

If you want the advocacy or recovery movement view, well, Poetry for Personal Power has completed over 90 resilience training presentations in Kansas in the last year. Here's our follow up method: http://poetryforpersonalpower....mpact-assement-form/

It's the evidence based wellbeing impact assessment. Basically, there 45 things you can do to promote mental health. The quiz works you through which of those things you already do or don't do.

We;ll be glad to present anywhere in KS.

Hi Corinna,

Thank you for your reply. The training we are providing is mostly for medical providers who want to move from awareness to action. What do they do in their practice after they screen kids and find out their ACE scores. Is this something you can assist with?

Cristi,

Yes, we specifically focus on  how does every interaction with every patient, client and family include "trauma informed care. We also focus on training entire teams, not just the medical professionals in the practice. We believe it is important that every employee posses the skills needed for every interaction which may include care for those who might have trauma. These skills are important prior, during and post screening. Additionally, our training provides skills which can be used immediately.
