A High School Graduate.....shares his story about being prepared at Lincoln High School

My Personal Story

I love this school, it is a part of me. The challenges that I have faced at Lincoln Alternative have been offset enormously because of the assistance of my teachers and the ‘love’ that has been shown to me by just about every member of the Lincoln Staff. My transition from a dependent Freshman to a self-reliant Senior seems to have gone by in months, not years, and I have grown as a person significantly.  The person who will walk out of this building as a graduated Senior tomorrow is not the same person who walked in back in 2008 with two friends and no clue what life was about.

My goal has always been to reach out and positively touch people’s lives, even if it was only in a small way, because I feel that I have no right to not use the time that I have on this earth to inflict a positive change and attempt to leave this world in a better condition than it was when I was brought into it. This is my personal philosophy, and Lincoln Alternative has always offered me the opportunity to make strides in my personal endeavor in ways that otherwise would not have been there.

After I leave Lincoln Alternative, I will find a job and go to Walla Walla Community College, where I will take a Plant Studies class to learn more about the ways that Nature functions. I hope to find a career in this field because I have always enjoyed and appreciated the life that Mother Nature gives and I would like to find a way to contribute to her and increase her might and vitality to fight those who take her blessings for granted and desecrate her ability to act as the Mother of every living creature.
