I work at CommuniCare Health Centers as a registered dietitian, but my interest in ACEs comes from my involvement in the Incest Survivors' Speakers Bureau of California (ISSBCA). We have sponsored or co-sponsored all 18 of the Annual Northern California Child Sexual Abuse Awareness Conferences (NCCSAA), which began in 1995!
I'm on the committee for our 2013 conference, so please let me know if you would like to participate, help our, or be considered as a speaker. We've had some remarkable speakers in the past:
In 2002, at our 8th annual NCCSAA conference, Dr. Vincent Felitti was our keynote speaker and our topic was, of course, the ACE studies. He received two standing ovations, and we'll never be able to thank him enough!
In 2011 our keynote speaker was Dr. Colin Ross, and this year, on 4/28/12, our keynote speaker was Dr. Jaime Romo. One of the highlights of the 2012 NCSAA was a presentation by our very own Jane Stevens, who talked about ACEs Too High and ACE's Connections!
