Contra Costa awarded $200,000 to combat domestic violence - California

"Contra Costa County -- Contra Costa County's Zero Tolerance for Domestic Violence Initiative has won a $200,000 U.S. Justice Department grant to fight domestic violence homicides.

"The grant comes out of the DOJ's Office on Violence Against Women to help state and local jurisdictions reduce domestic violence homicides by effectively identifying potential victims and monitoring high-risk offenders.

"Domestic violence has a devastating impact on our community," said Contra Costa board of supervisors Chairman Federal Glover of Pittsburg. "This grant is an opportunity to build on the strong partnerships we have established and prevent homicides."...
