CRACKED UP in a week of screenings in NYC starting this Friday, Sept. 13th

This is one of the best documentaries I've ever seen, not just because it addresses ACEs, but because the storytelling is stupendous!

Darrell Hammond and filmmaker Michelle Esrick will do Q&A’s after the 7:25 pm shows on Sept. 13th and 14th. There are three showtimes daily from September 13th through Sept. 19th. Dr. Bessel van der Kolk will join them for the Q & A on September 13.

Agreed, Jane!

Darrell Hammond’s story is incredible. The pain and the force of will he has to have had to endure that pain and β€œproduce” is almost impossible to imagine.

Michelle Esrick shares the story with amazing grace. The art and music used to help us understand Darrell’s story are perfect.

This documentary needs to be shown in every school of medicine, nursing, psychology, social work, pharmacy, addiction studies.  The irrefutable link between trauma, addiction; trauma and self-destruction, and trauma and issues with relationship with self and others is clearly shown here. Hammond’s resolve and resilience are remarkable.

I hope this documentary is nominated for some BIG awards. It is groundbreaking and deserving.
