"Gov. Tom Corbett made a pitch to lawmakers today to support his proposed 10 percent increase in state funding to combat domestic violence....

"“There is no typical victim they come from every socioeconomic background. They are educated professionals, teenagers and everyone in between, believing their relationships will get better and they are trapped in a web of manipulation, power and control built by their perpetrators and they are afraid to leave,” Nixon said....

"“We see this kind of horrific tragedy repeated too often and that’s why access to services in each of our communities is so critically important,” Dierkers said...."
