Healing the past in the present

As the director of mind-body medicine for a cancer center and a primary care practice, Felitti and Anda's work has tremendous impact. They were each very generous with their time as I incorporated their findings in my book, "You Can Beat the Odds: Surprising Factors Behind Chronic Illness & Cancer--and the 6-Week Breakthrough Program for Optimal Immunity." At each physician continuing medical education conference that I present at I share relevant studies pertaining to ACEs and included the research as well in "Writing in Physical and Concomitant Mental Illness: Biological Underpinnings and Applications for Practice." Our goal is to empower physicians and psychotherapists with the tools needed to identify ACEs and heal the past in the present. Bravo to Felitti and Anda--and to all of you here for the important work you are doing!

That's a fascinating link, Vince. I've heard of a German physician by the name of Ryke Hamer who was tracking emotional links and cancer and I'm wondering if he might have some data. And Jane, thank you for your note as well. My website is www.brendastockdale.com and has a link to resources in addition to my book, the cancer center and primary care practice. Looking forward to learning more on this valuable site!
