Since late 2013, Foundation for Healthy Generations has focused on providing leadership, support, and education around the bundle of trauma and toxic stress related sciences we call N.E.A.R. (Neuroscience, Epigenetics, Adverse Childhood Experiences [ACEs], and Resilience) to advance our mission to create enduring health equity.
Healthy Gen is seeking a champion authority and influencer with deep expertise in bridging prevention sciences with multi-generational and community context and an understanding of how norm change can play a pivotal long term role in creating enduring health equity. This position, located in Seattle, will help shape the agency’s strategic and developmental path and significantly contribute to associated partnerships, learning / engagement platforms, and content collaborations.
The ideal candidate will have experience with, and enthusiasm for, spreading and sharing deep content knowledge and understanding of the N.E.A.R. sciences, prevention research, and how they intersect with health equity. S/He/They will enjoy speaking, teaching, and coaching others in both large, small and one-on-one formats and in bicultural and multicultural environments, on implementation of useful strategies for the prevention, reduction and mitigation of ACEs, other trauma sources and additional key social determinant-oriented forms of toxic stress such as poverty, racism, and community violence.
The Director of N.E.A.R. Sciences Programs will serve as the agency’s expert in our ongoing integration of N.E.A.R. Sciences into Healthy Gen’s efforts to:
- support authentic community engagement;
- enhance personal capacity of all people impacted by trauma and toxic stress;
- impact and influence critical institutions and systems as well as public policy.
