Music to Calm the Heart

Article written by ACEsConnection member Shauna Signorini.

"In June 2010, I heard Dr. Perry talk a somatosensory intervention-play music of 60-80  beats per minute, the same rate as the human heart, to calm a person's heart rate.... Recently Confused.com released of a safe driving playlist recommended*  by Professor Simon Moore from  London Metropolitan University.  His study cited people listening to songs with a tempo of 60-80 beats per minute, drove safer.  This is the same 60-80 beats per minute that can lower heart rates to a resting level.  Two favorites, "I’m Yours" by Jason Mraz and "The Scientist" by Coldplay, made Professor Moore's list."
