National Survey on Abuse of People with Disabilities

 We are sponsoring a national survey just now and would like your members to complete the survey and forward to their colleagues. The abuse of kids with disabilities is a silent epidemic, occuring somewhere between 4-10 times more than those w/o disabilities.  Sort of the "dirty little secret" among this population. The National Survey on Abuse of People with Disabilities:  www.surveymonkey.com/s/disabilityabuse is the site, we are asking folks to please take the survey then forward it to all their colleagues.  Many people see kids with disabilities who are victims of child abuse, but ascribe the sequelae (psychological and behavioral) to their medical condition and completely fail to even consider child abuse as the cause. We run a weekly newsfeed for our Listserv members, which is posted on our website at www.disabilityandabuse.org.  Thank you for all you do.  We are very aware of ACES (now for many many years) and speak of it in our presentations...and we are friends with Vincent who has helped disseminate the Survey, which now has over 5,000 responses.
