SYMPOSIUM OVERVIEW

FFCA has provided professional development training and parent training throughout the United States, as well as, supporting international attendees in pursuit of enhancing skills working with fathers, mothers, parents of young children, executive leaders from diverse professions to improve the overall quality of services. In addition to the different professionals attending FFCA events, a significant portion of participants are parents of children primarily 0-5 through Head Start, preschools, and other supporting organizations. The San Diego Symposium will blend training for both parents and practitioners the first day and an emphasis for practitioners, educators, and helping professionals on the second day. This symposium is a collaboration event with FFCA's Oceanside Affiliate, Children's Paradise Infant & Preschool with exceptional trainers in-person, virtual facilitator, post-event video and podcasts to support an ongoing and enriching experience, going well beyond traditional training for parents and or professionals. 

FFCA will include an emphasis on portions of the training to focus on training for both parents and practitioners using DiSC, EQ, Mindfulness, Stress Reduction, and Safety to foster wellness, healthy communications, and building on strengths on Day One.

The Advanced Practitioner Credential is a comprehensive training for helping professionals with integrated strategies with a focus on working with young parents, intervention around trauma, Motivational Interviewing with integrated Cognitive Behavioral, Cognitive Processing, and Schematic interventions to meet the needs of new frontline workers and seasoned professionals working with parents, children and families on Day Two with specific intervention, culturally appropriate methods, evaluation, and required practicum for the credential.
