Securing Better Early Childhood and Health Outcomes [ascend.aspeninstitute.org]

In the summer of 2018, Ascend convened more than two dozen state and national policymakers and content experts in the fields of health and early learning for the Aspen Early Childhood and Health Forum in Aspen, Colorado, to discuss the growing potential to leverage the 2Gen approach at the state level and identify emerging innovations with potential for scale.

To embrace new funding streams and opportunities to integrate 2Gen into policies and programs to improve economic stability for families as a result of the recent midterm election, the field needs to remember:

  1. Sustainability is important.
  2. Equity and community are also critical to progress.
  3. A unified effort will yield the greatest success.
  4. Language is important.
  5. Families must remain at the center.

A new report and webinar details strategies federal, state, and local leaders must keep doing, start doing, or stop doing to remove barriers and accelerate success. Learn how Colorado, Georgia, South Carolina, and Washington state leaders have begun to align early childhood and health systems for better outcomes.

Watch the webinar or read the report to learn more.
