What is Complex Trauma? A Resource Guide for Youth and Those Who Care About Them

This new resource from the National Child Traumatic Stress Network is hot off the presses! This Guide was developed for youth who have experienced—or know someone who has experienced—Complex Trauma. Older youth, adolescents, and young adults can explore the information in this Guide on their own to help them better understand Complex Trauma and the effects. Clinicians, caregivers, and other adults can also use the Guide to have conversations with youth about Complex Trauma and about the coping methods that help, those that can cause problems, and strategies to make things better.

Visit http://www.nctsn.org/ for more resources like this.

I have also added this guide in the Media section under files.

Thank you and congratulations on this post.

'about" to write a blog post myself, to remind people of the trauma center at JRI and their own blog -- pretty disappointed in their latest post re comparisons between three different treatments for "child trauma" -- the author faiied to even mention the complications that arise with Complex PTSD, as it'll be known under ICD 11 -- despite their own on-staff psychiatrist Bessel van der Kolk and his classic paper on Developmental Trauma Disorder ---  available, of course, on their site under Publications -- DTD different name for Complex Trauma
