Washington: Resilience Through Diversity: The Power of Trauma-Informed DEI Practices

The Community Resilience Initiative is pleased to announce the 2020 Beyond Paper Tigers Fifth Annual Conference at the Centennial Hotel in Spokane, WA.

Conference Dates: June 24-25, 2020 (opening social/network on June 23, 2020). Plans underway to offer pre-conference trainings of Courses 1, 2, and 3 on June 22-23, 2020.

In nature, ecosystems harness resiliency through the biodiversity of life. Similarly, in our communities and society, our strength comes from not only the diversity of a population (sexual orientation, race, religion, gender, cultural background, class, neurological makeup, etc.), but also the intentional practices and opportunities of equity and inclusion. Through equity we promote impartiality and fairness by ensuring equal access for all. This includes acknowledging and correcting imbalances by addressing the root causes of disparities. Inclusion is the intention of welcoming and valuing the diversity of a community. Diversity is collective resilience, an idea far more effective than individual resilience alone.
