Does anyone have any easy to use, youth friendly tools to help identify risk factors in youth? At Paladin we are currently using multiple strategies as we have found that students respond differently to different methods. This has proven successful, but is also time consuming and has led to repetition of data occasionally.

We currently use:

A survey that we created - students fill out the document at orientation

Data and information from records sent to us by other institutions - academic, behavior, criminal justice, social services (when possible)

Information gathered from conversations/meetings with the students and/or the student's care providers.

If you have any thoughts on this, let me know.

Thanks,

Leisa

Leisa, You may want to take a look at the Research section/#5 Other ACE studies/surveys in our Resource Center. Many of the resources listed include questions. You may want to first look at the Lincoln High School Annual Survey (incls ACE questions) - Lincoln High School, Walla Walla, Washington. AC member Jim Sporleder could answer any questions you have on that survey since he is the principal.
