Center on the Developing Child, Harvard University -- "We are a multidisciplinary team committed to driving science-based innovation in policy and practice. Our shared goal is to produce substantially larger impacts on the learning capacity, health, and economic and social mobility of young children."

CHADIS -- "CHADIS is the leading screening, decision support and patient engagement system designed to streamline patient communication and optimize healthcare."

Child Mind Institute -- "The Child Mind Institute is an independent, national nonprofit dedicated to transforming the lives of children and families struggling with mental health and learning disorders. Our teams work every day to deliver the highest standards of care, advance the science of the developing brain and empower parents, professionals and policymakers to support children when and where they need it most."

The Children's Clinic -- "The 28 board certified Pediatricians of The Children’s Clinic are committed to providing the highest quality care to our patients from birth to young adulthood. Child Trauma Academy -- "CTA is a not-for-profit organization based in Houston, Texas working to improve the lives of high-risk children through direct service, research and education. By creating biologically-informed child and family respectful practice, programs and policy, CTA seeks to help maltreated and traumatized children."

HealthySteps -- "HealthySteps is an evidence-based, interdisciplinary pediatric primary care program that ensures babies and toddlers receive nurturing parenting and have healthy development. A child development professional, known as a HealthySteps Specialist, connects with families during well-child visits as part of the primary care team."

HEARTS Initiative -- "HEARTS are healthy environments and relationships that support people who have experienced trauma. HEARTS also prevent the trauma and consequences of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs)Our partner agencies have each developed programs to mitigate the effects of ACEs and have joined the HEARTS Initiative cross-sector coalition for a powerful ACE Response impact in the community."

Help Me Grow Alameda County -- "Help Me Grow Alameda County is a system that collaborates with agencies, families and providers across the county to help ensure children ages birth – 5 years reach their optimal development.

Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation (IECMHC) -- "IECMHC is a prevention-based service that pairs a mental health consultant with families and adults who work with infants and young children in the different settings where they learn and grow, such as child care, preschool, and their home. The aim is to build adults’ capacity to strengthen and support the healthy social and emotional development of children―early and before intervention is needed."

Issue Brief 66 - Engaging Pediatric Primary Care to Address Childhood Trauma: Part of a Comprehensive Public Health ApproachChild Health and Development Institute (CHDI) -- "Recognizing the public health impact of childhood trauma exposure, a goal of the Connecticut State Health Improvement Plan (SHIP), led by the Department of Public Health (DPH), is to increase the number of children and adults screened for trauma by primary care and behavioral health providers."

Medical Home Portal -- "The Medical Home Portal is a unique source of reliable information about children and youth with special health care needs (CYSHCN), offering a “one-stop shop” for their families, physicians and medical Home teams, other professionals and caregivers."

Montefiore Health System -- "Montefiore Health System (MHS) is a premier academic medical center and the University Hospital for Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Combining a population health perspective that focuses on the health needs of communities with nationally recognized clinical excellence, MHS delivers coordinated, compassionate, science-driven care where, when and how patients need it most. MHS consists of six hospitals and an extended care facility with a total of 2,059 beds, and state-of-the-art primary and specialty care provided through a network of more than 150 locations across the region, including the largest school health program in the nation and a home health program."

Project LAUNCH, Mental Health Promotion & Youth Violence Prevention -- "The purpose of Project LAUNCH (Linking Actions for Unmet Needs in Children’s Health) is to promote the wellness of young children ages birth to 8 by addressing the physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and behavioral aspects of their development. The long-term goal of Project LAUNCH is to ensure that all children enter school ready to learn and able to succeed. Project LAUNCH seeks to improve coordination across child-serving systems, build infrastructure, and increase access to high-quality prevention and wellness promotion services for children and their families. Project LAUNCH is guided by a unique, federal-level partnership among the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, the Administration for Children and Families, the Health Resources and Services Administration, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention."

NPPC ACES: "The momentum for universal ACEs screening in pediatric primary-care is growing. Be part of a national peer group of providers interested in applying ACEs and toxic stress science to medical practice and in expanding knowledge, building capacity, accessing resources, and shaping the field of trauma-informed medical practice."

Resilience Project -- This project by the AAP focuses on several components from policy and education to improving practice and more to protect and help today's youth.

RYSE Center -- "We envision a movement led by young people that ensures dignity for youth, their families, and communities. 

Programming at RYSE is anchored in the belief that young people have the lived knowledge and expertise to identify, prioritize, and direct the activities and services necessary to thrive."

Shasta Community Health Center -- "Shasta Community Health Center, working with private and public health partners, and by leveraging and efficiently using its limited resources, will help to create a seamless system of access to compassionate, high quality cost-effective primary and preventive health care for all residents of the communities it serves. Shasta Community Health Center strives to improve the health status within the communities it serves, particularly for those residents who are economically or otherwise disadvantaged."

Trauma Center at Justice Resource Institute -- "In addition to clinical services, The Trauma Center offers training, consultation, and educational programming for post-graduate mental health professionals. Our Certificate Program in Traumatic Stress Studies has state-of-the-art seminars, lectures and supervision groups. The Trauma Center Research Department is housed at our Brookline location. The Research Department conducts studies on traumatic memory and how treatment effects trauma survivors' minds, bodies, and brains."

Trauma-Informed Primary Care Initiative -- "[14 competitively selected primary care organizations]...will adopt trauma-sensitive screening, assessment and treatment practices that will aid their efforts to successfully treat patients with chronic, uncontrolled health conditions; explore the affect of traumatic life events on a person’s chronic physical health conditions, overall health and wellness utilization of services and capacity for self-management; and systematically track changes in health indicators for a target population chosen by primary care organizations."

Triple P -- "The Triple P – Positive Parenting Program is one of the most effective evidence-based parenting programs in the world, backed up by more than 35 years of ongoing research. Triple P gives parents simple and practical strategies to help them build strong, healthy relationships, confidently manage their children’s behavior and prevent problems developing. Triple P is currently used in more than 25 countries and has been shown to work across cultures, socio-economic groups and in many different kinds of family structures."

Vital Village -- "Vital Village is a network of residents and organizations committed to maximizing child, family, and community well-being.  Our place-based, community engagement network mobilizes collective investment from residents, community organizations and institutions to seed scalable and sustainable community change around child protection and promoting healthy social and emotional development in early childhood."

Zero to Three -- "ZERO TO THREE plays a key role in ensuring that babies and toddlers get a strong start in life by supporting:

  • parents with practical resources that help them connect more positively, deeply and continuously with their babies
  • professionals with knowledge and tools that help them support healthy early development
  • policymakers in advancing comprehensive and coherent policies which support and strengthen families, caregivers and infant toddler professionals"
