Get involved in the statewide distribution of the second round of Proposition 47 funding! The Proposition 47 Grant Program is administered by the Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC) to provide funding for mental health treatment, substance use disorder treatment, diversion programs, housing-related assistance, and other community-based supportive services for justice-involved individuals.

To ensure these funds are allocated effectively, the top priority is to have community-based allies on the Prop 47 Scoring Panel, which will rate applications and make recommendations for program grantees. We need the valuable insight and experience of system-impacted folks and community service-providers to lead this grant-scoring process.
The deadline to apply for a spot on the Scoring Panel is December 13, 2018 (one week from now). Please share this widely with folks who may be interested!
To apply, you need to send an email to Prop47ESC@bscc.ca.gov with your name, location, organization name (if any), and a statement of interest indicating "how your participation will contribute to this grant." For more information on the application process, click here.

Some important things to keep in mind:

Scoring Panel members and their organizations cannot receive grant funds. Organizations that plan to apply for grant funding cannot have any employees serving on the Scoring Panel. Scoring Panel members do not get paid for their time, but the BSCC will reimburse travel expenses to Sacramento, meals, mileage, and hotels. For more information on committee membership, click here.

Interested participants must devote time to rate grant applications and attend four all-day meetings in Sacramento on:

April 3, 2019 April 4, 2019 June 5, 2019 June 6, 2019

If you apply, please let me know so I can keep track of ally applicantsIf you have any questions about the application process or the BSCC more generally, please reach out to Renee Menart (renee@cjcj.org).
