ACEs Aware Training: Trauma-Informed Care 101 — Jan 30, 2021
Please join us for our first ACEs Aware trainings offered January 30th (and earlier on the 20th as well) 2021. Free to all, this virtual training will kick off an exciting schedule of trainings centered on ACEs screenings.
Trauma Informed Care 101
Led by Nick Dalton of Hanna Institute, this introduction to trauma-informed continuums of care will pay particular attention to understand how trauma can affect the way we think, act, and feel. The webinar will interweave culturally relevant, healing-centered, and resiliency focused approaches to address the needs of trauma-exposed populations and their interactions with service providers.
We hope that participants will learn strategies to change the way we react to, validate, and even care for the psychological wounds that we experience by creating an equitable environment that is careful, kind, self-reflective, and compassionate.
This webinar (offered at two different times!) will help you:
Identify the factors and stressors that can create potentially traumatic events (PTE) for individuals and communities
  • Learn what trauma does to the biology of a human being
  • Examine how personal experiences and culture relate to prevention, regulation, and post-traumatic growth
  • How to cue client reactions as a means of guidance towards healing and recovery
  • Recognize social skill development, brain development, and emotional development for the specific service recipient populations of the training group
  • Formulate personal nervous system distress in the face of client’s trauma responses
  • Utilize de-escalation strategies to build safety-calming
  • Apply specific pro-social engagement behaviors to field work
