Distance Learning 2.0: Pajaro Valley looks ahead, a conversation with Superintendent Michelle Rodriguez

Within five days of school closure in March, Pajaro Valley Unified in Watsonville  successfully implemented distance learning that included distributing 15,000 Chromebooks and 1,000 hot spots so that all  20,000 students had a device.

Supt. Rodriguez will  discuss how the district designed a program with equity as its core though community partnerships, multi-lingual communication, an embrace of innovation and attention to the cognitive, social, emotional and physical well-being of youth.

She will also explain the next steps: identifying students for a two-week jump-start to school and designing many scenarios for school this fall.

Join us for an in-depth conversation with Supt. Rodriguez and EdSource’s John Fensterwald as they dive deeper into the strategies and successes of Pajaro Valley’s transition to deeper learning and take your questions.
