From Moms Demand Action:
The COVID-19 crisis has created new challenges for parents. Kids are out of school and spending more time at home. The boredom and isolation they may be feeling pose additional risks to their safety. Securing all guns in the home—storing them locked, unloaded, and separate from ammunition—can save your child’s life. The Be SMART campaign was created to keep children and teens safe from unsecured guns, and in this event, we will focus on the "R" (Recognize the role of guns in suicide).
In this virtual event, you will hear from a Students Demand Action leader about some of the challenges facing young people, will hear from a Survivor of teen gun suicide, will learn more about the Be SMART campaign, will practices self-care strategies for helping everyone in this unprecedented time, and will learn how you can take action to keep children safe.
