Webstream on Community Trauma and Child Well-Being

Join NW Children's Foundation for a conversation about how childhood trauma is experienced not only individually but also collectively, requiring a more holistic approach to healing.

The NWCF Forum, Community Trauma and Child Well-Being: Trauma-Informed Care and the Future of Healing, is Thursday, January 31, at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle. The event is sold out, but there is a webstream option available, with an on-demand recording available through February 4. Please visit the webstream registration page for more information and to sign-up for the virtual event; the cost is $20.

NWCF is thrilled to present Shawn Ginwright, PhD, a highly sought-after national speaker, and Seattle pediatrician and community leader Benjamin Danielson, MD. Using the latest research blended with personal stories, they will explore how toxic environments and systems such as inequality, poverty and racism are collectively experienced, and therefore need a different approach to healing.

The Forum will also incorporate panelists from the community to share their insights and examples of “Community ACEs” – also known as Adverse ChildhoodEnvironments. Attendees will learn conceptual tools and practical strategies that support traumatized children and youth (and the adults working with them) in a holistic and strength-based way.
