An Introduction to NMT (Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics)

Do you feel like the  “traditional ways” of helping traumatized children just aren’t working?

You’re not alone and you no longer need to be frustrated.

Recent discoveries in brain science has opened doors to new understanding and therefore, new approaches to helping traumatized children.

HERE this NOW is thrilled to offer a 2-day affordable training workshop to introduce Dr. Bruce Perry's approach to assessing and treating trauma.

An Introduction to NMT (Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics)

Presenter: Stephen Bradley, Child Trauma Academy Fellow
When:  March 23 & March 24, 2020
Where:  The Hancock Inn, Hancock, NH
Cost:  $399.00* includes lunch and snacks daily
Sponsors:  Monadnock Voices for Prevention & Monadnock Family Services

*Thanks to the generous sponsorship of Monadnock Voices for Prevention, a limited number of full scholarships are available for participants from the Monadnock Region of NH.

The Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT) is not a specific therapeutic technique or intervention; it is a developmentally sensitive, neurobiologically informed approach to clinical work. NMT integrates several core principles of neurodevelopment and traumatology into a comprehensive approach to the child, family, and their broader community. The process helps match the nature and timing of specific therapeutic techniques to the child’s developmental stage and brain region and neural networks mediating the neuropsychiatric problems.

This workshop will introduce participants in the fields of education and mental health to core concepts in the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT) as they apply to working with children who have experienced developmental trauma in a variety of settings.  Particular attention will be paid to “operationalizing the concepts” in practice and to the relevance of early intervention. Descriptions of core concepts in practice will illustrate their relevance in “real life” settings and situations. Pragmatic hands-on emphasis will be a key focus throughout this training.

This workshop has limited space and is expected to fill quickly.  More information and registration at www.herethisnow.org/workshops/#nmt
