1. Mindfulness is a useful way of creating calm and bringing people to the present moment

2. Understanding how childhood adversity affects brain development supports understanding of behaviours/ symptoms of young people and adults later in life

3. Feeling safe is often the first step in supporting people to move forward.  Visualising a place of safety is a helpful coping mechanism for moments of anxiety.  The physical environment of community and service settings can also have a significant effect on our feelings, behaviours, health and productivity.

4. Co-produce trauma informed practices and ideas with people who have experienced childhood adversity and/ or people who use your services and/ or community settings.

7. The Headstart programme provides many useful tools and ideas for trauma informed practice in schools

9. Learn more and be empowered to take forward change by viewing the film Resilience, taking part in a free half-day workshop to learn about trauma and how it impacts young people and those around them or if you work includes the Ramsgate area take part in our new ACE Ambassador development programme.
