Department of Counseling and Behavioral Health & Trauma Conference

Thomas Jefferson University's newly formed Department of Counseling and Behavioral Health has generated its first-ever newsletter. If you're interested in trauma-informed training and education, or if you simply want to stay abreast of the work of some great clinicians, researchers, advocates and aspiring professionals, please have a look. The Community and Trauma Counseling program currently has Art Therapy options and is launching two new specializations and certificates this summer: (1) Trauma, Addictions and Recovery- a program that prepares students for the CAADC credential, and (2) Child Trauma and Play Therapy- a program that prepares students for the RPT credential. Reach out if you have questions or are interested in more information.  Master's students and post-master's professionals are welcome!

Also make note of the announcement about the 4th Annual Philadelphia Trauma Training Conference save the date and call for proposals at the end of the newsletter. It is always my favorite week of the year, gathering the most diverse and wonderful interprofessional audience. Join us as an expert presenter or as an attendee! Please also consider asking your organization to sponsor our conference. We aim to keep costs low for attendees, and we love to provide scholarships to community members who are unable to register because of the cost.

Thank you!

Jeanne Felter, PhD, LPC

Department Chair
