Mayoral Primary One Week From Today

What do the democratic candidates for mayor in Philadelphia think about Trauma-Informed Care, Mental Health/Substance Use Reform, Transformation of the Child Welfare System?

Watch the footage from the 2015 Health and Human Services Mayoral Forum to learn about the candidates before going to the poll.

The Alliance of Community Service Providers, Pennsylvania Council of Children, Youth and Family Services, The Committee of Seventy, and the Thomas Scattergood Behavioral Health Foundation believe that to truly have a healthy and thriving Philadelphia at all levels (individual, organizational, and system), that Health and Human Services need to be a top priority to the next Mayor of Philadelphia.  These organizations with support from WHYY and Children's Crisis Treatment Center held the first Health and Human Services Mayoral Forum.

Topics discussed by each candidate included: child welfare, behavioral health, intellectual disabilities and autism, prevention and early intervention, trauma-informed care, and much more. The candidates had received a full briefing packet of materials and had the opportunity to participate in an educational session about these issues. The briefing packets included several papers written by local experts and can be downloaded from this blog post.
