Request for Applications: Building Agency Capacity for Program Evaluation

PLEASE SHARE! THIS INITIATIVE IS OPEN TO ALL TYPES OF NON-PROFITS!

The Thomas Scattergood Behavioral Health Foundation, The Barra Foundation, and The Philadelphia Foundation will support eleven nonprofit organizations to receive evaluation training and consultation from The Consultation Center at Yale University for two years.

The Building Agency Capacity for Program Evaluation initiative addresses evaluation issues within non-profits including: the lack of capacity to collect evaluation or continuous quality improvement data, measuring the impact of services, communicating effectively about data and more. These issues make it difficult for organizations to institute data-driven program changes, retain funding in an era of increasing accountability, or compete for new funds.  In addition, organizations that lack capacity for program evaluation may also not have staff with essential data-related skills to adequately implement evidence-supported practices that require ongoing monitoring of program processes, outcomes, and impacts.

This initiative will enable eleven (11) organizations in the Greater Philadelphia Area to receive evaluation training and consultation services for two (2) years (July 2015 – June 2017) and participation in the Greater Philadelphia Evaluation Learning Collaborative after June 2017. With the support provided by the Thomas Scattergood Behavioral Health Foundation, The Barra Foundation, and The Philadelphia Foundation, the initiative has been designed to include more ongoing training for the existing grantees and to guarantee space for up to eleven (11) new organizations for the upcoming cycle.
