Healing through Storiez Conference

This multidisciplinary, dynamic event* will support professionals from a wide range of backgrounds in identifying ways to creatively support traumatized youth in healing through narrative. This event will feature performances, testimonials, keynote presentations, personal opportunities for self-reflection, and a panel discussion.

 

Target Audience: Professionals providing support to traumatized youth (therapists, social workers, teachers, administrators, community leaders, and any other interested individuals or groups)

 

This event will feature engaging speakers including:

Sanctuary Model founder and Board Certified Psychiatrist Dr. Sandra Bloom

Storiez creator, trauma clinician, and multimedia artist Dr. Meagan Corrado

Dynamic mural artist, educator, and author Isaias Crow

Art House founder, visual and performing artist, and community activist Vanessa German

Social justice advocate, workforce development pioneer, and artist Michael O’Bryan

 

During this day-long event**, participants will:

  1. Receive exposure to a diverse array of creative healing strategies
    2. Learn specific ways to implement narrative-based healing methods in their work with youth
    3. Identify ways that they can promote strengths-based trauma healing in a wide range of settings
