This course will address the role support networks play in healthy child development. As the nature of family continues to change and evolve, the role that communities and community organizations play in the lives of children is more significant. In this workshop, we will explore how early care and education settings can build and support healthy, resilient children.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Define the role of support networks in the context of children’s safety and well-being
  • Understand the role of community in building resiliency in children
  • Identify the strategies that can be used in the classroom to support resilience.
