Philanthropic dollars are critical to piloting trauma-informed programming that addresses early adversity and toxic stress and promotes early childhood development. However, health care providers often struggle to sustain these efforts after pilot demonstration funding ends. Financing of trauma-informed approaches to promote healthy early childhood development has emerged as a hot topic with health systems and payers alike. In this session, participants will hear from state Medicaid, health system, and health plan representatives about the business case needed to integrate trauma-informed care and emphasize early childhood investment across an organization, health system, or state. Health system leaders, payers, and policymakers are encouraged to attend this session to share their experiences and learnings, and to engage in discussion with panelists on how to operationalize and financially sustain trauma-informed care.
