Description: [Infographic] The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation created an infographic to increase understanding and awareness of the impact of ACEs.

Strong Communities Raise Strong Kids, 2011
Description: Arizona Regional Child Abuse Prevention Councils put this PowerPoint together and has been showing it to dozens of communities across the state. It reviews the ACE Study, brain research, cost consequences of not preventing ACES, and how families and communities can build resilience factors to prevent ACEs. For Spanish versions of the PowerPoint, the 10-question ACE survey, and an ACEs brochure, go to the Trainer Toolkit.

ACEs Science 101 for Health Care Community

Childhood Adversity Narratives, 2015
Description: Physicians and ACEs experts from UNC, Duke, UCSF and the New School developed a fabulous 50-slide PowerPoint and PDF. It might be a bit too complicated for the general public, but it's GREAT for people in healthcare who want to educate the healthcare community.

Childhood Adversity and Toxic Stress in Medical Care:  Promoting Health and Healing throughout the Lifespan, 2016
Description:  Explains the evidence for the long term effects of stress experienced during development, describes the clinical manifestations of toxic stress, lists questions you can use in screening for ACEs, and what you can do if one of your patients (child or adult) screens positive for ACE(s). DescriptionA collection of trauma-related resources, searchable by media type and topic. Topics include brain architecture, lifelong health, mental health, neglect, resilience, and toxic stress. Sign up for their mailing service to be notified of newly released resources.

ACEs and Mental Health: Broadening the Conversation, 2016
Description: The University of Minnesota hosted a one-day conference in December 2016 to discuss the intersection of ACEs and student mental health, the effect on success as a student and as a graduate, and the importance of resiliency. The conference promoted a deeper understanding of ACEs and mental health, including a discussion of how to foster resilience to reduce or moderate the impact of ACEs and identifying effective interventions to prevent dropping out of college. Conference presentations and the full agenda are available for review.

Iowa ACEs 360, 2016
Description: Use the key research and website links to become more informed about ACEs, brain science and interventions. Video recordings and presentation materials from the October 2013 summit in Des Moines, as well as two free online learning modules provide in-depth training on The ACE Study and A Child Abuse Prevention Response, are available. Check back often for updates.
