ACEs Connection's Lunch & Learn

Thank you to each of you who engaged in our ACEs Connection Lunch & Learn on Thursday, January 29th from Noon to 2:00 pm.   Hosted by Cherokee Point Elementary School, over 55 participants celebrated thethe SD-Trauma Informed Guide Team's convergence of their communication platform onto SD County's online group.   Honoring the history of the SD-Trauma Informed Guide Team, Amelia Barile-Simon, Kimberly Beckstead, and Pam Hansen shared the evolution of the Guide Team.

Parent Leaders who are Trauma Informed Community Experts from TICS: Trauma Informed Community Schools shared their lens of their transformation as they've become trauma informed.   Alejandra Echevarria, Diana Cordova, Karla Rivera and Carmen Rodriguez reflected on their understanding of trauma and the impact of toxic stress on their families lives.  Reflecting on their roles as community leaders in Cherokee Point neighborhood, they shared how their lives have been forever changed through their capacity to bring healing individually, with their family, and collectively.

ACEs Connection Network Founder, Jane Stevens, shared the history of ACEs Connection and her national vision of every County in our Nation having an ACEs Connection online group. Reflecting on how San Diego County is the first largest County toco-create a community driven, county-wide initiative of our resiliency building movement, Jane and Alicia St. Andrews, State-Wide Community Manager of ACEs Connection, are tremendously excited to support our county-wide efforts.

 

Alicia St. Andrews reflected on the growing momentum of our SD County online group. Honoring our parent leaders and consumer driven practices, Alicia shared how our County wide initiative is poised to be a national model.

 

Dana Brown shared how our co-creation of cross-sector collaborations county-wide will be a Collective Impact initiative, driven by the community residents, on resiliency as we co-design our sustainable advocacy strategies on prevention, intervention and policy change.

Dawn Griffin's Closing Remarks were articulately expressed with excitement, hope, and affirming how we're co-creating "Competence with Kindness" in our resiliency building movement.

 

Taking a group picture of our historical opportunity, we are grateful to all engaged in our resident driven, resiliency building initiative.   Profoundly grateful to Jane Stevens and her entire team's visionary leadership, we are thrilled to collaboratively partner with ACEs Connection.
