City of San Diego passes unanimously the Resolution of Support of Trauma Informed Approach

On Tuesday, July 28th, 2015, our San Diego City Council Members unanimously passed the Resolution in Support of Trauma Informed Approach to Address and Prevent Gang Violence put forth by the Commission on Gang Prevention & Intervention.

 

The ADOPTION AGENDA, DISCUSSION, OTHER LEGISLATIVE ITEMS RESOLUTIONS: ITEM-330: Resolution Number R-309894 A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN DIEGO SUPPORTING A TRAUMA-INFORMED APPROACH TO ADDRESS AND PREVENT GANG VIOLENCE (Citywide.) ITEM DESCRIPTION: This action is for Council approval of a Resolution in support of Trauma Informed Care. Trauma Informed Care is an organizational structure and treatment framework that involves understanding, recognizing, and responding to the effects of all types of trauma. This aligns with the Mayor's One San Diego vision of programs and initiatives to improve all neighborhoods.

Signed by the Mayor on August 3, 2014, we are building capacity on the Commission on Gang Prevention & Intervention's two year Trauma Informed Work Plan for 2015 - 2017, our collective momentum is in alignment with county-wide Initiatives and Systems Change in myriad capacities of entities' Policy, Practice, Program and Procedure throughout our City, County and county-wide in San Diego.
