Trauma-Responsive Schools Conference in Southern California

HERE this NOW is proud to bring its Trauma-Responsive Schools Conference to California, October 23 – 25, 2019, at the stunning Temecula Creek Inn in Temecula, CA (2 hours north of San Diego; 3-hours south of Los Angeles).

This is not a typical conference.  Participants will be actively engaged in an immersive experience, rendering more growth - personal and professional.

Five diversely skilled and experienced pioneers of trauma-informed schools change are coming together for first time, to support educators championing this work. Participants will be guided by experienced trauma-informed consultants Lara Kain, Emily Read Daniels, and James Moffett; and special guest presenters, Jim Sporleder and Mona Delahooke.

Sessions are presented in a cohort model, thereby limiting the number of attendees in order to maximize psychological safety, depth of learning, and individualized attention.

Participants will gain an understanding of the relevance and application of The PolyVagal Theory in schools, learn about process and structures that guide cultural change, and the principles, strategies, and practices of trauma-responsive schools.

Because the work of educating others is inherently depleting, HERE this NOW events are offered in a restorative environment.  Cultivating educator resilience is a necessary precondition for spearheading a school change initiative. Every detail is planned to nurture participants.

This immersive 2-night, 3-day experience will equip trauma-informed champions with the knowledge and skills to shepherd vital change in their education community.
