The Science of HOPE: featuring Casey Gwinn, J.D. & Chan Hellman, Ph.D.

The Science of Hope, presented by Casey Gwinn, J.D. and  Dr. Chan Hellman, will take place on Thursday, February 21, 2019 from 5:30pm - 7:30pm at San Diego State University's Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union, Montezuma Hall. This is a free event hosted by the SDSU School of Social Work and co-sponsored by Alliance for HOPE International and NASW-CA Chapter. Advance registration is required.

Did you know that hope is measurable, malleable, and cultivable?

In the research done on trauma, illness, and resiliency, hope is the most predictive indicator of well-being in a person's life. Based on nearly 2,000 published studies about hope--including their own research--Casey Gwinn and Chan Hellman call for rising hope to be the focus not only in personal lives, but in public policy for education, business, social services, and every other part of society.

Come enjoy a free Chipotle burrito, find out your Hope Score, and learn from two of the top hope researchers in the country how to apply the evidence-based science of hope to your life and to your work! Learn practical ways to increase your Hope Score and to thrive because of it.

Also find out more about the exciting work of Camp HOPE America, the leading camping and mentoring program in the country for children impacted by child abuse and domestic violence. Information about potential summer camp counselor positions will be available.
