Workshop Three: Trauma in Your Community - How it affects everyone and the role of religious leaders in processing it.

Violence in and around our community creates stress and trauma, even if you are not directly involved. Learn what trauma is, its effects, how to recognize it, and health ways to cope with trauma while still being an advocate for your community.

Speakers: Tasha Williamson (San Diego Compassion Project), Bevelynn Bravo (Mothers with a Message), and Dana Brown (ACEs Connection)

The Building Trust Partnership supports religious leaders in San Diego who are working to improve relationships between community members and law enforcement. These cohorts design and implement initiatives that have the power to change the dynamics between police and communities to make our neighborhoods safer.

The Building Trust Partnership Cohort in Southeastern San Diego has created a community education series to empower the residents of Southeastern San Diego to better understand and engage with law enforcement. We hope you will join us for one or all of the events in this six-part series.
