San Mateo County ACEs Connection is a community for all who are invested in creating a trauma-informed and resilient San Mateo County. This is a space to share resources, information, successes, and challenges related to addressing trauma and building resiliency, particularly in young children and their families.

Immigrant Relief Funds Available Now – San Mateo County Board of Supervisors, Sobrato Foundation and other foundations have pooled funding to support immigrant families access funding to make ends meet given how challenging this time continues to be. The program is offering up to $1,000 for eligible households. The eligibility criteria include: 1) your household has lost income due to Covid-19, and, 2) you’re not eligible for the federal CAREs funds because of immigration status, and 3) you are a low-income San Mateo County resident. Covid Relief Funds Still Available through Core Agencies – Many of the agencies are also providing second time assistance now. To identify which core agency serves your area, visit: CORE Service Agencies. The supports they provide is numerous and includes rental assistance.  Specific to the Core Agency, Fair Oaks Community Center, which services Redwood City, North Fair Oaks, Atherton, Woodside and Portola Valley residents, they are now offering 2nd time assistance for households and starting in August, they will allow 2nd time assistance for households that receive or are eligible for unemployment benefits or are current on their rent.  They continuing to offer 1st time financial assistance through their online application: https://www.redwoodcity.org/about-the-city/covid-19-housing-resources. They have a wait-list but are continually reviewing the waitlist applicants and adding them to their regular list for processing.

Chan Zuckerberg Community Fund Now Accepting Grant Applications – applications accepted to August 17th. Their Community fund supports organizations in Belle Haven, East Palo Alto, North Fair Oaks, and Redwood City, near and around the CZI headquarters in RWC. They are supporting local organizations “leading work to bring increased equity, power, and opportunity.” For more information, visit https://chanzuckerberg.com/rfa...-czi-community-fund/.

Eviction Moratorium Extended through August – On July 21st the County Board of Supervisors extended the moratorium on residential and commercial property evictions through August 31, 2020. The Covid Recovery workgroup focused on Vulnerable Communities is exploring additional needs related to expanding housing supports and Core Agencies are still offering rental assistance, some for a second round.  Register for the August 7th 2nd Race & Covid Virtual Community Town Hall: Following our May 1st Race & Covid virtual Town Hall lead by the Office of Diversity and Equity in Behavioral Health and Recovery Services, we are cohosting a second town hall focused on hearing the voices of communities that have been disproportionately impacted by Covid.
