Join Sonoma County Office of Education and the School Counselor Network in this engaging workshop with Wendy Wheelwright of Behavioral Health Services.
Wendy will give an overview of this trauma intervention therapy, including specific coaching on how to develop a skills group for youth and adolescents.
Folks who attend this class are invited to participate in other Behavioral Health Dialectical Behavior Therapy, which will be offered on a rotating basis throughout the year.

Official Course Description:
This training covers the fundamentals of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills: Core Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, and Interpersonal Effectiveness. Participants learn how to plan, structure, and conduct DBT skills classes. This training utilizes an interactive format to explore dialectical challenges for the provider in working with highly dysregulated youth. The training will also explore the process of selecting training targets and DBT strategies. Completion of this training is pre-requisite to joining the DBT Skills Facilitators Preparation Training series.
