We've long been wanting to go deeper with Laura Porter into the Self-Healing Communities process, and the time has arrived! We're hosting a series of four community events next week and we hope you'll consider joining us!
We'll discuss the health and prosperity of Sonoma families. We'll hear about the Self-Healing Communities Model and how it might provide a useful framework here. You see the challenges up close; we want to hear from you.
“We can start to see clearly that communities that have been very actively mobilized around these issues…the young people who are aging into adulthood have lower ACE scores….profound impact on the next generation. We see this virtuous cycle being set up in our state that that’s what we want for every state in the nation” - Laura Porter
(Not sure what this is all about? We can solve that, in ~1 minute, with the short video below)
WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Health and mental health professionals, nonprofit and agency professionals, others interested in public health and health equity.
And in the end, shouldn’t we aim to support families further 'upstream', before the impact to health and well-being is felt?
There are also events on Monday Feb 26 and Tuesday Feb 27 9am-noon, oriented more for nonprofit and agency leadership and business owners.
That one will be held at Sonoma Springs Community Hall, 18627 Sonoma Hwy, Boyes Hot Springs.
